Pipeline Engineering Nigeria — GRP, Steel and HDPE Systems from P&ID to Commissioning

Karoch Engineering delivers complete pipeline engineering — design input, materials procurement, installation, and commissioning — for GRP/FRP, carbon steel, stainless steel, and HDPE pipeline systems across oil and gas, water, and industrial applications in Nigeria.

Pipeline Engineering That Starts with the P&ID and Ends with a Signed Commissioning Certificate

Pipeline engineering done properly starts before the first pipe is ordered. We review the P&ID, confirm pipe sizing against the flow data, specify the correct material and jointing method for the fluid and pressure class, and manage the installation sequence to avoid conflicts with civil and mechanical work. The commissioning certificate is issued when the system has been hydrotested, all documentation is complete, and the operator has been walked through the system.

What We Deliver

▸  GRP/FRP pipeline systems — gathering lines, injection water, firewater mains, process piping in fiberglass composite

▸  Carbon and alloy steel pipelines — fabrication, welding, PWHT, NDT inspection, and pressure testing

▸  HDPE pipeline installation — butt-fusion and electrofusion welded HDPE for water, gas, and chemical service

▸  Stainless steel process pipework — hygienic, pharmaceutical, and high-purity process piping

▸  Pipeline stress analysis input — expansion loops, support design, and flexibility assessment

▸  Hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing — to project specification and regulatory requirements

▸  Pipeline commissioning — flushing, purging, functional testing, and operator handover

▸  Pipeline maintenance and repair — leak detection, repair, and integrity assessment for existing systems

We Know GRP Piping Better Than Anyone Else in This Corridor

Most Nigerian pipeline contractors have carbon steel experience. GRP/FRP piping requires different jointing knowledge, different handling practices, and different test procedures. Karoch Engineering has specific GRP pipeline installation expertise — including bell-and-spigot, flanged, and butt-and-wrap jointing systems — that most steel pipeline contractors cannot offer.

FAQ

Common Questions

Q: Can you design a GRP pipeline from scratch, or do you need an existing design?

A: We can work from a client-supplied P&ID and specification, or provide design input from first principles. For complex systems, we work with specialist pipeline design consultants where required and manage that relationship.

Q: Do you work on buried pipeline installations?

A: Yes — buried GRP and HDPE pipelines require specific bedding and backfill procedures. We specify and supervise the civil installation to protect the pipeline during backfill and compaction.

Q: Can you replace an existing steel pipeline with GRP?

A: Yes — this is a common project type. We assess the existing system, confirm GRP suitability for the fluid and pressure class, and install the replacement GRP pipeline to the same or improved specification.
