Water Storage Solutions for Nigerian Universities and Institutions
Karoch Engineering has delivered campus-wide water storage systems, structural works, and waterproofing projects for universities and institutions across Nigeria — including the University of Benin, whose Vice Chancellor has committed to returning Karoch for their entire 4,800sqm facility.
Why Campus Water Systems Keep Failing — and What Actually Fixes Them
Most Nigerian university and institutional campuses run on ageing Braithwaite steel tanks that were installed in the 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s. After 25–35 years of service, the galvanising has degraded, the panels are rusting, and the water quality is suspect. Worse, many of these tanks are on rooftops with restricted access, making inspection and maintenance difficult.
The fix is not always a like-for-like Braithwaite replacement. Modern GRP sectional panel tanks outlast galvanised steel by 15–20 years, require no internal lining maintenance, and can be assembled on the same rooftop footprint without heavy lifting equipment. Karoch Engineering supplies both — and will give you an honest recommendation based on your specific facility.

The University of Benin Trusted Karoch — Here Is Why
Karoch Engineering completed a major water storage and waterproofing project at the University of Benin (UnibenI) — delivering GRP tank installation and structural waterproofing across a 4,800sqm production facility. The project was delivered on time, to specification, and to the satisfaction of the institution’s leadership.
“Karoch Engineering will return to finish our entire 4,800sqm facility in its entirety.”
— Vice Chancellor, University of Benin

FAQ
Questions We Get From Institutional Clients
Can you work within a university's annual procurement cycle?
A: Yes — we regularly provide quotations, technical proposals, and BOQ documentation that fit institutional tender processes. Contact us early in your budget cycle and we will provide everything needed for your procurement committee.
Should we replace our old Braithwaite tanks with GRP, or repair them?
A: This depends on the age, condition, and location of the existing tanks. Karoch Engineering can provide a condition assessment and a clear recommendation. In many cases, GRP replacement is the better 20-year investment. In others, Braithwaite replacement-in-kind makes more sense. We sell both, so you will get an honest answer.
Do you work outside Lagos for institutional projects?
A: Yes — Karoch Engineering has delivered institutional projects across Nigeria. For projects outside Lagos, we factor travel and logistics into our project cost. Contact us with your institution’s location and project scope.
